Aaron Wong

Aaron Wong is a product specialist and the Principal at Black Swan Consulting focusing on client relationships through custom solution development. Prior to Black Swan he was a Vice President at Citigroup Global Markets where he syndicated TruPS and ABS CDOs. Prior to joining Citigroup, he was a trader at UBS Securities from 2004 to 2007 where he focused on CDO transactions backed by corporate credit and ABS. Prior to UBS he developed trading tools, performed deal surveillance and structured transactions over a three year span in the CDO group at Goldman Sachs. Aaron holds a Masters in Financial Mathematics from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Michigan.

John Ruddy

John Ruddy, CFA, is a product specialist at Black Swan Consulting focusing on CMBS and CDO transactions. Prior to Black Swan he was a Director on the commercial real estate lending team at Citigroup Global Markets. Before joining Citigroup, he was a principal at NIR Capital where he invested in CDO and structured products over a two year span. From 1998 to 2004, John served as Vice President at Wachovia where he structured CDO, CLO, equipment lease and franchise loan transactions. Prior to Wachovia he served as a manager at KPMG for two years where he modeled CMBS, ABS and RMBS transactions. From 1992 to 1996, John was a senior auditor at the FDIC. He holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Scranton and an MBA from George Washington University.

Jay Nallo

Jay Nallo is a risk management specialist at Black Swan Consulting focusing on asset allocation using qualitative and quantitative methods. Prior to Black Swan he consulted clients on risk managed allocation of portfolios at Fidelity Investments, Vanguard, BlackRock and PIMCO over a ten year period. From 1996 to 2002 Jay was an accountant at Suny Health Science Center leading integrated audits and implemented risk assessment tools. From 1989 to 1995 he was a financial analyst at New York Cornell and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Centers performing enterprise risk audits, due diligence on mergers and acquisitions. From 1989 to 1995 he was a senior at Empire Blue Cross Insurance leading audits of treasury investments, actuarial models and cost reports. Jay holds a BA in Accounting and Economics from Queens College and a MBA from Adelphi University.

Jack Pong spearheads Business Development at Black Swan Consulting.  Throughout his career, Jack has focused on the intersection of finance and technology for his institutional clients.  Jack provides strategic guidance to clients to better leverage the power of data and analytics in a global economy.  Prior to Black Swan, Jack was Executive Vice President at Trepp from 1999 to 2016, where his efforts helped propel the company into its position as a global leader in the CMBS data and analytics industry.  Jack’s clients are among the leaders in global banking and asset management companies, where he has developed valuable relationships that have proven sustainable throughout his and his clients’ careers.  Jack holds an MS in Real Estate Development from New York University and a BA from The State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Jeremy Vandergoot

Jeremy Vandergoot is a product specialist at Black Swan Consulting focusing on data extraction and building client relationships through solution support. Prior to Black Swan he was the director of business development for AlphaLogic, an IT training company. From 2006 to 2010, Jeremy originated loans as a senior mortgage banker at Quicken Loans and One Reverse Mortgage. He holds a BA in Finance and Accounting from Western University.

Kristen Verberkmoes

Kristen Verberkmoes is a marketing specialist at Black Swan Consulting focusing on client relationships and business development. Prior to Black Swan she worked at UBS where she was responsible for marketing a variety of fixed income products, including cash and synthetic CDOs, index tranches, insurance-linked securities, ABS, and commodities. Her clients included major hedge funds, banks, and asset management firms. She previously worked in public finance at JP Morgan. She holds an AB in Economics from Princeton University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Manan Shah

Manan Shah, Ph.D. is a data science and machine learning specialist at Black Swan Consulting focusing on product development. Prior to Black Swan he served in senior leadership roles in regulatory gaming, social gaming, marketing technology, video advertising technology, video technology, and market research firms from 2010 to 2022. From 2008 to 2010, he worked as a freelance mathematician and math educator. From 2000 to 2002, Manan was a Senior Financial Analyst at Cushman & Wakefield developing pricing models for structured real estate transactions. Manan holds a BS in Electrical Engineering (2000) from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and an MS and Ph.D. in Mathematics (2005, 2008) from Florida State University with a concentration in Financial Mathematics focusing on mortgage rate computations and pricing of real estate lease contracts.

Winnie Lam, J.D., is legal counsel at Black Swan Consulting focusing on compliance and regulatory matters. Prior to joining Black Swan and obtaining her law degree, she worked at Deutsche Bank in the Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities Securitization Group. At Deutsche Bank, she was responsible for analyzing mortgage collateral for bidding, pricing, and securitization. Winnie obtained her law degree from New York Law School in 2011 and has been admitted to the New York and New Jersey State Bar.
